Bu araştırma, geleneksel dokuma tekniklerinden bezayağı örgüsünün, keçeleştirme sürecinin sonuçlarını teknik ve estetik açıdan incelemektedir. Çalışmada, tarama ve deneme modeli bir arada kullanılmış; araştırma bezayağı dokumalar ve keçeleştirme teknikleriyle sınırlandırılmıştır. Bu kapsamda, konuya ilişkin alan yazını taranarak keçeleştirme tekniğinin dokuma yüzeyler üzerine uygulanması sonucu malzeme davranışı ve estetik dönüşüm üzerine yapılan çalışmalar araştırılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda farklı iplik ve atkı sayısına (tek atkılı, çift atkılı) sahip dört adet numune bezayağı dokuma üretilerek keçeleştirilmiştir. Ayrıca, Nallıhan Kuş Cenneti’nin doğal renk, doku ve biçim çeşitliliğinden esinlenilerek iki farklı tasarım yapılmış, tasarımlarda doğanın estetik görünümünün geleneksel dokuma yüzeyleriyle bütünleştirilme olanakları araştırılmıştır. Numune dokumalarda ve tasarımlarda keçeleştirme işlemi sonrasında, atkı ve çözgü sıklığına bağlı olarak ortaya çıkan görsel değişimler ile keçeleşme sonrası meydana gelen çekme oranları analiz edilmiş; elde edilen sayısal veriler tablolarla sunulmuş ve görsellerle desteklenerek ayrıntılı biçimde açıklanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında ulaşılan sonuçlar keçeleştirmenin yalnızca teknik bir işlem değil, aynı zamanda dokuma yüzeylerinde biçimsel ve dokusal dönüşümlere neden olan bir süreç olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu yönüyle çalışma, gelenekten beslenen çağdaş tekstil uygulamalarına katkı sunmayı amaçlamaktadır.

This research examines the results of the felting process of plain weave, one of the traditional weaving techniques, from a technical and aesthetic perspective. In the study, screening and trial models were used together; the research was limited to plain weavings and felting techniques. In this context, the relevant literature was reviewed and studies on material behavior and aesthetic transformation as a result of the application of the felting technique on woven surfaces were investigated. In this direction, four sample plain weaves with different yarn and weft counts (single weft, double weft) were produced and felted. In addition, two different designs were created inspired by the natural color, texture and shape diversity of Nallıhan Kuş Cenneti, and the possibilities of integrating the aesthetic appearance of nature with traditional woven surfaces were explored in the designs. After the felting process in sample weavings and designs, the visual changes that occur depending on the weft and warp density and the shrinkage rates that occur after felting were analyzed; the numerical data obtained were presented in tables and explained in detail, supported by images. The results obtained within the scope of the research show that felting is not only a technical process, but also a process that causes formal and textural transformations on woven surfaces. In this respect, the study aims to contribute to contemporary textile practices nourished by tradition.
