This study discusses the importance of toys, which are a unique part of play, in cultural transmission. The study examines the place and transformation of toys throughout history and in the present day through a literature review supported by visuals. The new toys that have emerged as a result of modernity imposing its own character on everything are analysed specifically through the example of dolls. It is known that visual and auditory information and habits acquired during childhood persist for many years. The gaps in transmitting traditional values, which are disappearing day by day, to the present through dolls are noticeable. There are strong folkloric doll designs representing different regions of Anatolia. However, these dolls remain inadequate in terms of communicating with today's children, going no further than being souvenirs or memorabilia. In this context, in the application part of the study, three clothing designs are created using doll clothes and traditional fabrics used in the clothing as powerful tools for cultural transmission. One of the clothing designs themed on the Black Sea region has been produced. In the literature, topics such as folkloric dolls and Barbie dolls are examined from the perspectives of identity, belonging, communication, and psychology. This study is original in that it proposes modern designs for doll clothing.
