REFLECTİONS AND EXAMPlLES OF OPART ART İN GRAPHİC DESİGN


Throughout art history, artists have developed various techniques and approaches to convey their messages to audiences in the most effective way. These efforts have led to new searches in every field of art and caused the emergence of some movements. This article focuses on the Op Art movement, which emerged from the 1950s and deals with the perceptual structure of the human brain. In this article, the emergence and basic principles of reflections in graphic design of the Op Art movement are examined. While the pioneers of this art movement are mentioned, the works and influences of artists such as Vasarely, Yakov Agam and Jesus Raphael Soto are emphasized. It is also emphasized that Op Art is an art movement that deals with human perception and optical illusions. Basic Principles of Op Art: Op Art works require certain technical principles and optical laws. Artists have created works with specific geometric patterns based on fictional logic and the structure of the illusion. These patterns allow viewers' eyes and brains to respond to optical illusions. Op Art affects the viewer by creating physical and psychological effects and provides an experience under the control of the artist, it is stated that certain technical principles and optical laws lie.
