Bu çalışmanın amacı, nesnenin sanatsal üretimler ve sanatçı üzerindeki yönlendirici gücünü yeniden üretilen özgün çalışmalar üzerinden deneyimlemektir. Yapılan alan araştırması sonucunda benzer konuların incelendiği görülse de bu araştırmada yer alan sanatsal çalışmalar ve sanatçı deneyimleri araştırmaya özgünlük kattığı gibi alan literatürüne de katkı sağlamaktadır. Çağdaş sanat pratiklerinde nesnenin sanatsal anlatımlara konu ve malzeme olduğu birçok örnekle karşılaşmak mümkündür. Ancak nesnelerin malzeme ve boyutlarına müdahale ile işlev bozumuna yönelik çalışmalar sınırlıdır. Bu araştırma kavramsal sanattan günümüze kullanım nesnesini sanat nesnesine dönüştüren sanatçı ve pratiklerinden rastgele seçilmiş örneklerle sınırlandırılmıştır. Diğer taraftan çalışmanın çıkış noktası her ne kadar genel çerçevede “nesne” olarak belirlense de kullanım nesneleri bağlamında sınırlı tutulmuştur. Sanatsal dönüşüm serüveninde, kullanım nesnelerinin anlam ve işlev bozumuna yönelik çözümlemelere kavramsal sanat çerçevesinde yer alan örnekler üzerinden cevap aranmıştır. Böylece, işlevsellik özelliği ile ön plana çıkan kullanım nesnelerinin biçimlerine müdahale edilmeden, sanat nesnesine dönüştürülmesi amaçlanmıştır.
This study aims to examine the guiding influence of objects on artistic production and artists through reproduced original works. While similar subjects have been addressed in existing field research, the artistic works and artist experiences presented in this study contribute to its originality as well as to the literature in the field. In contemporary art practices, numerous examples can be encountered wherein objects serve as subjects and materials for artistic narratives. However, studies focusing on functional dysfunction intervention in the materials and dimensions of objects remain limited. This research is confined to selected examples of artists and practices—from conceptual art to the present—that transform utilitarian objects into art objects. Furthermore, while the study's point of departure was conceptualized broadly as "object," its scope has been restricted specifically to utilitarian objects. In the journey of artistic transformation, this study, addresses analyses of the semantic and functional deconstruction of utilitarian objects through examples situated within the conceptual art framework. Thus, the study aims to transform utilitarian objects distinguished by their functional characteristics, into art objects without intervening with their formal properties.
