This study investigates the interpretation of the relationship between form and shape in the works of Nuri İyem, a prominent figure in Turkish art. İyem's distinctive artistic approach integrates Anatolia's cultural essence with the universal language of modern art, offering innovative and contemporary perspectives on form in Turkish art. The analysis encompasses a range of his works, including portraits, still lifes, and landscapes, emphasizing his unique deviation from traditional artistic methods. In his portraits, İyem captures emotional depth and social context through stylized lines and vibrant colors, creating a direct emotional connection between the depicted figures and the viewer. His still life and landscape paintings adopt a more abstract treatment of form and space, stimulating personal interpretations from the audience. The findings reveal İyem’s pivotal role in redefining the relationship between form and shape, bridging the traditional and the modern while elevating Turkish art to a global platform. His works serve as compelling examples of Turkish art's capacity to establish a distinctive and influential presence in the international art scene. Employing content analysis as a qualitative research method, this descriptive study examines İyem’s artistic development, themes, techniques, and aesthetic principles. It highlights his contribution to the understanding of form-shape dynamics and underscores his impact on the evolution of Turkish art. This research offers valuable insights for academic literature and affirms the enduring significance of İyem’s artistic legacy.
