Bu araştırmada, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından hazırlanan ilkokul birinci sınıf matematik ders kitabında bulunan görseller biçim ve içerik açısından incelenmiştir. Doküman incelemesi yöntemiyle yapılan bu çalışmada, Elia ve Philippou’nun (2004) matematik öğretimine uyarladıkları, Carney ve Levin’e (2002) ait resimlerin işlevinin belirlenmesine yönelik sınıflandırma referans alınmıştır. Bu sınıflandırmanın esasında küme örnekleme yöntemiyle kitaptan 5 dekoratif, 5 temsili, 5 organizasyonel, 5 bilgilendirici ve 5 dönüşümsel olmak üzere toplam 25 görsel seçilmiştir. Uzman görüşü alınarak geliştirilen kategoriler ve onlara ait temalar değişkenler olarak esas alınmıştır. Araştırma kapsamına alınan görseller biçim ve içerikle ilgili geliştirilen temalara göre, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından hazırlanan “Taslak Ders Kitabı Ve Eğitim Araçları İle Bunlara Ait E-İçeriklerin İncelenmesinde Değerlendirmeye Esas Alınacak Kriterler” dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, Türkiye’de birçok araştırmacı tarafından gündeme getirilen, ilkokul birinci sınıf matematik ders kitabındaki görsellerle ilgili sorunlar yeni ders kitabında kısmen giderilmiştir.
In this study, the visuals in the firstgrade mathematics textbook prepared by the Ministry of National Education were examined in terms of form and content. In this study, which was carried out with the document analysis method, the classification of Carney and Levin (2002), which adapted to the mathematics teaching by Elia and Philippou (2004), was taken as reference. On the basis of this classification, a total of 25 images, 5 decorative, 5 representative, 5 organizational, 5 informative and 5 transformational were selected from the book with the cluster sampling method. The images included in the research were examined according to the themes developed regarding the form and content considering the “Draft Textbook and Education Tools and Criteria to be Based on the Evaluation of the E-Content Related to Them” prepared by the Ministry of National Education. According to the obtained results, problems with visual first grade in elementary school mathematics textbook raised by many researchers in Turkey were partially dissolved in the new textbooks.
