İlk insanların bugünkü birçok spor ve halk oyunlarının temelini oluşturan av sahneleri mağara duvarlarında o günün koşul ve anlayışı ile yansıtılmıştır. Ve o günlerden günümüze kayalara minyatür kitaplarına heykellere tuvallere: okçuluktan avcılığa at biniciliğinden yüzmeye disk atıcılığından arena oyunlarına spor ve halk oyunları temaları üzerinden toplumun ritmini, enerjisini ve kültürel zenginliğini yansıtan hikâyeler aktarıla gelmiştir.

Hunting scenes, which form the basis of many sports and folk games of the first people today, are reflected on the cave walls with the conditions and understanding of that day. And since those days, stories that reflect the rhythm, energy and cultural richness of the society have been conveyed through rocks, miniature books, sculptures and canvases: from archery to hunting, from horse riding to swimming, from discus shooting to arena games, through sports and folk dance themes.

Sports is a stage where the human body performs flawlessly. Painting artists skillfully transferred sports scenes to surfaces in order to capture this aesthetic richness and convey it to the audience. For example, artworks depicting the dynamism of an archer stringing his bow or a football player kicking the ball emphasize the beauty and power of the moment in sports.

Folk dances and sports are not only physical activities, but also an important show that serves to keep the culture, traditions and community ties of societies alive. Painting brings colorful clothes, dance figures and folk dances to the canvas with its enthusiastic atmosphere. In addition to being a mirror to the period, these works serve as documents and play a key role in transferring cultures from generation to generation.

Various sports activities have been the subject of research from time to time due to the cultural element in painting, aesthetic perspective, and being the work of an artist. But the subject of sports activities discussed in painting has not been the subject of a direct research. In this respect, this study is thought to be important.
