19. yüzyılın sonu 20. yüzyılın başlarında, Türk idari ve kültürel hayatında Batılılaşma hareketlerinin hız kazanarak, siyasi, askeri, kültürel ve sanat alanlarında ciddi atılımlar gerçekleştiği görülür. Tanzimat Fermanı’nın kabulüne müteakip I. Meşrutiyet’in ilanıyla dönem aydın ve sanatçıları Türk toplumunu belirtilen alanlarda Batı medeniyetinin gelişmişlik düzeyine ulaştırmak amacıyla birçok yenilikçi uygulamayı tatbik ederler. Bu bağlamda Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi ve Servet-i Fünun dergisinde Batı kültürünü, yaşam tarzını, sanatını, düşünüş biçimini tanıtacak eserlere ve özgün çalışmalara yer verilir.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, 1896-1901 yılları arasında Servet-i Fünun dergisinde yayımlanan resimlerin Türk kültür ve sanatına ne ölçüde yenilikler kattığını göstermek, örneklemek ve yorumlamaktır. Servet-i Fünun dergisinde yer alan resimlerle resim sanatının, başta edebiyat ve diğer sanatlar üzerinde yenilikçi etkilerini tespit etmek çalışmanın temel çıkış noktasını oluşturmuştur. Örneklem olarak Tablo altı şiirler ile Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi ve Avrupa’da yapılan mevcut sanat eserleri ile özgün resimler kullanılmıştır. Eserlerde zihniyet ve yaşam biçimlerindeki dönüşümün başta kadın, çocuk, farklı inanç biçimleri ve tabiat unsurları üzerinden sağlandığı anlaşılmıştır. Araştırmada nitel yöntem kullanılmış olup, veri toplamada literatür tarama tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Yapılan incelemeler neticesinde Servet-i Fünun dergisinde yayımlanan resimlerin Batılılaşma çabalarının somut göstergeleri olarak ve yenilikçi birer uygulama şeklinde işlevsellik gösterdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, it is seen that the westernization movements in Turkish administrative and cultural life gained momentum and serious breakthroughs took place in the political, military, cultural and artistic fields. After the adoption of the Tanzimat Edict, with the declaration of the First Constitutional Era, intellectuals and artists of the period applied many innovative practices in order to bring the Turkish society to the level of development of Western civilization in the specified areas. In this context, the journals of Sanayi-i Nefise School and the journal of Servet-i Fünun include works and original works that will introduce Western culture, lifestyle, art, and way of thinking.

The aim of this research is to show, exemplify and interpret the extent to which the paintings published in the magazine Servet-i Fünun between 1896 and 1901 added innovations to Turkish culture and art. The main starting point of the study is to determine the innovative effects of the art of painting with the pictures in the magazine Servet-i Fünun, especially on literature and other arts. As samples, poems under the paintings, Sanayi-i Nefise school, existing works of art made in Europe and original paintings were used. It has been understood that the transformation in mentality and life styles in the works is achieved primarily through women, children, different forms of belief and nature elements. Qualitative method was used in the research and literature review technique was used in data collection. As a result of the examinations, it was concluded that the paintings published in the Servet-i Fünun Magazine showed functionality as concrete indicators of Westernization efforts and as innovative applications.
