ARMAN’IN SANATINDA BİR İFADE ARACI OLARAK ATIK NESNE
Atık kavramı, kullanıldıktan sonra ya da ihtiyaç bitiminde kullanım dışı kalmış her türlü maddeye verilen addır. İnsan tüketimin bir uzantısı olan bu atıklar, endüstrielleşme ve seri üretimin artması ile dünya için bir soruna dönüşmüştür. Atığın temel nedenlerinin başında gelen tüketim kültürüne eleştirel yaklaşımlar, sosyal yaşamın birçok alanında olduğu gibi sanat alanında da karşılık bulmuştur. Yeni Gerçekçilik akımının öncü isimlerinden Arman, konu çerçevesinde ele alınabilecek sanatçıların başında gelmektedir. Arman, seri üretim malzemelerini ve atık nesneleri sanatında kullanarak, tüketim kültürüne göndermelerde bulunmuştur. Seri üretimin göstergesi olarak kabul edilen “nesne tekrarı” ve onların kapladığı alanlar, sanatçının eserlerindeki en belirgin unsurlardır. Bu çalışmada seri üretimin bir sonucu olan atığın gündelik yaşamda yarattığı olumsuzluklara değilmiş, sanat aracılığı ile bir ifade aracına dönüşen atık nesnelerin, Arman’ın sanatındaki yeri irdelenmiştir.
WASTE OBJECTS AS A MEANS OF EXPRESSION IN ARMAN’S ART
The word “waste” is used to label any object or material that is left over after using a product or is simply no longer needed. Waste is therefore an extension of human consumption, and this problem for the world has grown along with increasing industrialization and mass production. Critical approaches to consumption culture, which is one of the main causes of waste, have found a response in the field of art and many other areas of social life. A leading name in the Neorealist movement is Arman, and he is an artist who should be considered within the framework of the subject. Arman makes reference to the culture of consumption by using materials from mass production and waste objects within his art. “Object repetition” is accepted as an indicator of mass production, and it is one of the most prominent elements in this artist’s work. This article examines waste’s transformation into an expression through art, specifically Arman’s art, which highlights the negative effects of the daily production of waste that results from mass production.
