Rönesans’tan beri süregelen natüralist sanat, XIX yüzyılda Empresyonizm’in açık hava ressamlığıyla son aşamasına varır. Bu aşamada sanat, uçan izlenimlerin peşinde bir ışık ressamlığına dönüşür. Bu yeni akım 1870’lerde ortaya çıktığı zaman yargılanır. Fakat kısa bir süre içinde sanat yaşamına egemen olur ve Empresyonizm’in getirdiği yeni görüş bütün sanatlarca benimsenir. Sanatçının izleyen göz olmaktan uzaklaşıp ‘özne’ olmaya yönelmesiyle, nesnel bilginin peşinden değil, gerçeğin ‘öte’ yüzünü arayan özne olma sürecini barındıran bir sürece dönüşür. Rönesanstan başlayıp XIX. yüzyıla kadar ki geçen süreçte resim sanatında oluşan gelişmeler ve döneme damgasını vuran sanatçılardan Pıerre August Renoir’ın çocukluğundan itibaren başlayan resim hayatı anlatılır. Pıerre August Renoir resimlerinde daima değişim içerisinde olduğunu üslup özelliğinde oluşan farklılıklarla gösterir. Tablolarında kullandığı renk skalasında canlılık ve çeşitlilik hâkimdir. Yapacağı kompozisyonu tuvale aktarırken sert ve kalın fırça darbelerinin kullanmaktan çekinmez. İlk sanat yıllarından Empresyonizm’e ve oradan son sanat yıllarına kadar kazandığı bu deneyimleri eserlerine aktarır.
Naturalist art, which has been continuing since the Renaissance, reaches its final stage with the open-air painting of Impressionism in the XIX century. At this stage, art turns into a painting of light in pursuit of flying impressions. This new trend is judged when it emerges in the 1870s. But in a short time it dominates the art life and the new view brought by Impressionism is adopted by all the arts. As the artist moves away from being the observer eye and tends to be 'subject', it turns into a process that includes the process of becoming the subject seeking the 'beyond' of reality, not after objective knowledge. Starting from the Renaissance and XIX. The developments in the art of painting in the period until the 20th century and the painting life of Pierre August Renoir, one of the artists that left his mark on the period, started from his childhood. Pierre August Renoir, in his paintings, shows that he is always in change with the differences in style. The color scale he uses in his paintings is dominated by liveliness and diversity. He does not hesitate to use hard and thick brush strokes while transferring his composition to the canvas. He transfers these experiences he gained from the first years of art to Impressionism and from there to the last years of art into his works.
