THE ANALYSIS OF KYRGYZSTAN-TURKEY MANAS UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF FINE ARTS STUDENTS' ATTITUDES TOWARDS NATIONAL VALUES TEACHING IN TERMS OF DIFFERENT VARIABLES


ABSTRACT

One of the goals of education is to transfer the national values accepted by the majority of the society to future generations and to ensure that they internalise these values. Different factors affect the formation, development and transfer of values to future generations. Kyrgyzstan has a structure that harbours different cultural elements together. With the declaration of independence after the Soviet period, the state of Kyrgyzstan started educational activities to bring national values to the fore. It is important to examine the attitudes towards the teaching of national values in terms of different variables, considering that the students who take the internship III (teaching practice) coursefuring the final year of the Faculty of Fine Arts are able to become teachers with the pedagogical education certificate programme.

This research was carried out to determine whether the attitudes of final year pre-service teachers of Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University Faculty of Fine Arts towards teaching national values differ in terms of different parameters and whetherthe attitude scores of pre-service teachers; gender of the participants, place of residence with the family, academic achievement status, educational status of the parents have an effect on the variable of finding the teaching of national values valuable and important, and if so, at what level.

The population of the study consists of senior year students studying at Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University Faculty of Fine Arts. In the research, the data were obtained with the attitude scale towards teaching national values. It was observed that while the attitude scores obtained as a result of the research did not show a significant difference according to the place of living with the family, the academic achievement status of the student and the educational status of the parents, there was a significant inverse low level relationship between the age of the students and the sub-dimension of caring about the teaching of national values.
