PLASTIC ARTS EDUCATION FOR VISUALLY DISABLED INDIVIDUALS


          In this study, the importance, effects and necessity of plastic art education in visually impaired individuals were investigated. Within the scope of the research, semi-structured observation studies were designed by giving the subject and material to twenty visually impaired individuals in Private Yenimahalle Asrın Rehabilitation Center. In the article, observations and applications are explained by exemplifying six studies. These applications are the works that are made by working with low vision and blind students, observing and directing by touching, with ceramic clay and modeling pens on the canvas surface under the guidance and guidance of the teacher. While the students were guiding the studies by identifying objects in their studies, using their sense of touch and groping, they were motivated by the art education teacher with direction and suggestion at every stage of the study. Before the studies were carried out, individuals were taken for a nature walk and it was given importance to develop them by using their touch, feeling, linking between objects and textures in nature and their affective features. In the implementation phase, while giving feedback to the student with the principle of immediate feedback and correction, step-by-step and gradual approximation teaching method techniques were used. It is aimed to support the motivation of individuals with teaching methods from simple to complex and from easy to difficult, using small steps and active participation methods. The applications were shaped with the principle of from the part to the whole, the works were photographed and interpreted.
