A REVIEW ON DIGITAL ARCHIVING OF POSTER DESIGNS

Archives are important structures that undertake the communication mission of recording information. The archive, which has a dual connection with the fields of science, art and design, aims to record, preserve, protect and make accessible when necessary, various literary and visual information. In this respect, the archive, as a concept that can be reflected in every period of human life, serves as a bridge between the past life period and the future. Archive as a term also has an important place in the field of graphic design. Digitization has had a huge impact on archives. For this reason, scientific and economic developments have a special place in the development of digital archives. Easier access to archives through digital applications has been achieved through technological channels. While transferring poster designs, which are historically an example to poster design, to digital resources over time, has solved a problem, it has also revealed various problems. The fact that the same poster designs differ in digital resources and that it emerges as a problem of digitalization has laid the groundwork for the research of the subject. In this research, it focuses on the problems of color, typography and form, which occur during the digitization of the posters with historical value, while they reach the present day, and that they are digitally archived.
