A CRITICAL OVERVIEW OF GODARD’S “SCENARIO’S OF PASSION” FILM AND NAME JUNE PAIK'S

Poststructuralist approaches in today's art have opened art to interpretation and enabled the artists to create a creative perspective in their work. The closure of the era of great narratives, and the reconstruction of artworks by postmodernism has developed a clear view of interpretation. This research evaluated the rethinking and interpretation of cinema and video. Jean Luc Godard, one of the directors of the new wave in cinema, produced a video titled “The Scenario du Film Passion”, which he produced with a critical view of the movie “Passion”, in 1982, and created a space that provides interrogation to the processes of text and image formation and new thinking structures in cinema. Name June Paik, one of the pioneers of video art that emerged as a television critic in the 1950s, created a work called "Mirage Stage" in 1986. He believes that the satellite network that provides radio and television broadcasting is used to achieve global awareness and that these devices should be questioned again. The artists, who asks all the assumptions about art and takes new intellectual paths, produces a radical change. This research examines the artworks reconstructed by establishing the relationship between cinema and video, which artists use as mediums in their works, with deconstruction.Within the scope of the research, literature was searched, and books, articles, theses and internet contents were used as sources.
