Sarıkeçililer are nomad Yörüks living in bristle tents they have woven themselves, mostly dwelling in coastlines in Mersin and districts during winters and migrate to the prairies around Konya and Karaman on foot and living on stockbreeding. As they survive depending on nature they consider the whole nature as their homes. Weaving Yörüks defines the subject matter of this paper. The topic was chosen with the aim of introducing the color, design and technique of the girth weaving among other weavings of the Sarkeçili nomads. Finding no information related to girth weaving in the previous research texts on the life pattern and textiles of the Sarıkeçililer makes the subject even more important. The subject matter is limited with familiarizing and introducing the girth weaving examples of the Sarıkeçili Yörüks found in Aydıncık (Mersin), Seydişehir (Konya) and Karaman (Konya) where they dwell during summers.Consulting the relevant literature we have tried to determine the related publications. However, most of the data of the research is based on the observations and studies of the researchers. The girth weaving examples seen in every field of the daily life of the Sarkeçili nomads dwelling in Aydıncık, Seydişehir and Karaman make up the visual data of the research. In the analysis of the research data we have tried to present and transfer to this paper the information received in face to face interviews, observations and studies. We believe with this research Sarıkeçili Yörüks with their brilliant examples shall contribute to the knowledge in the field of weaving.
