INDUSTRIAL DIMENSION OF CHAIR AND PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECT ON HUMAN

Furniture, which is one of the basic indicators of cultural structure, is seen not only for shelter and meeting the necessities, but also as a phenomenon brought by socialization in different cultures, functions and time periods with the implementation of societies. Although the starting date of the seating furniture is not known, there are examples showing the features that match the contemporary seating furniture in terms of both size and form from Ancient Egypt to the New Kingdom Period. The history of chairs and furniture can be traced back to Egypt as well as the traces of furniture history in the Mesopotamian region, a geography where Egypt is in constant interaction. The fact that the human tendency to sit is higher than the other living things and that they act according to their needs has made the chair evolution very active and colorful. This journey, starting from a piece of stone or log, has reached today's forms. The evolution of technology, materials and human design have made this evolution the most important and functional furniture of spaces. Industrialization had a direct impact on seating furniture; The chair also played an important role in this sense and came to the fore with its industrial dimensions. The paper will focus on the chair and the industrial access of the chair. The effects of this furniture on people will be discussed.
